Why is my credit score low?

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

My credit score says I’m at High Risk. I finally got my first credit card 6 months ago after getting rejected several times. Does everyone start out with a low credit score? I heard it’s because my lack of experience with credit, but I know of others who’s first credit cards were Target cards and they’ve rejected me more than once.

Could it be possible from when I joined a music club (like get 10 cd’s for $1 type thing) when I was 14 and I never paid them? I kept getting warning and threats in the mail, but they eventually stopped. Do you think that could have affected my credit eventhough I was a minor?

my credit smells worse that horse sh*t everything is in collections and it is all from when i was younger about 6yrs back– everything is going to fall off of report between feb08 to aug 08 so then i will be going to no credit from high risk– so i want to get a credit card but i do not want to give them money off the bat is there any company out there who reports to the credit agencies and offers an outrageous interest for someone with crappy credit? or am i going to have to get a secured card?

Question on Bad Credit!

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

Ok my friend is here with me and wanted me to ask this question b/c she needs help!! First off, her credit isn’t that great..considered high risk. She has an emergency and needs a 1500 loan really quick. It seems like the bad credit loan sites (that are legit) are not allowing her to get one…if they are bad credit/high risk sites how are they not allowing her the loan?? Also … she needs to know what she can do in order to get one, or if shes totally helpless. Please let us know!! Thanks guys ~
Also, what credit cards are available for someone with her credit status?
Besides Capital One, they don’t help at all!

which would be better an outside lender or my credit union to purchase a home. both pre-qualified me?

my loan is high risk due to my past credit. bank giving 80/20 (8.75%,10%). credit union one loan at 9.5%. 100% financing, no money down. bank using 40yr term, credit union 30yr term. monthly payments about the same. don’t know if I would have to go through so much with the credit union whom I’ve banked with for several years opposed to the outside lender. does it matter which one i use?

who should i talk to in order to prevent anything abt my accout going on chexsystem or affecting my credit?

okay… so, my mom gave me a credit card (discover) check & i deposited it in my account at chase. her wallet was stolen & when she reported the credit card was missing, the check also showed as stolen & was returned (it went through at 1st). my account was then closed because of this (they said it was high risk). i called chase & they said my branch manger has to call them & ask for my account to be open. i came to find out that she is a complete bitch & doesn’t care at all about my account or what happens to me. won’t talk to them. i told her having my account closed for being “high risk” might put me on chexsystem or mess up my credit and she said she doesn’t care & it’s not her problem. when i call the branch they say my account is suspended & therefore they can only talk to my branch’s manager. i really don’t know what i can do at this point….
