But Police officers don’t? I don’t think its fair , that marines come back from Iraq and get treated like heroes (which I think they are). But cops just get the middle finger! lol , They put their lives online every night as well , and with the death rate of this war , they are both equally risking their lives for people. Sorry I guess this is kind of a rant , my brothers a cop. Just wanted to say to all you other cops out there that your sacrifices are appreciated.

My friend is trying to get an apartment and has not been approved yet. He applied for two different apartments, both of which he was not accepted due to his bad credit. What can a person do to get around this problem. He makes plenty of money, he just has a bad credit history. Does anyone know what he can do short of getting a cosigner?

Newbie with no credit card balances and confused during home loan process-first time home owner age mid 50s married with independent business for over 30 years-many commercial and realestate loans involved with the business. Seems the fico is saying I am a bad risk but not sure if I am reading the right numbers. Teh comments all refer to not having any revolving credit and I believe the commercial loans we have. Would seem that a net worth over 1 mil and a d to a under .3 would not be bad.

I am a journalist living in California making decent money now, but financial problems I had in college are coming back to haunt me. I have very poor credit as a result. Now, I have had an emergency situation pop up - I need to pay off some folks I borrowed money off of and I need to return to my home in Arkansas to tend to a family situation. I have $300 in my savings account, but I need approximately $5000 to take care of my immediate needs. I can’t go to a payday lender but I’d be very willing to work out a deal with a private lender who can send money to me where I can get it very quickly. I’ve tried to sign up for Prosper but it will take 5 days or so for them to verify my information and I don’t have that much time. I have two websites that will verify my standing as a journalist and my employment status, and I have several computers I’d be willing to sell or put up as some form of collateral or something. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

I have bad credit and my husband has twelve negitive items on his credit report - mostly steming from credit bills his ex wife flaked out on that we are paying back slowly. However our family is growing and out growing the apartments we’ve been living in. I desperately want a better quality of living for my family, a yard for my children instead of a parking lot to play in. A neiborhood with families that care about their kids and raise them with some ethics, instead of the kids around here who might walk right in if the door wasn’t locked and take off with our things. I will have my Nursing degree in less than two years and my husband is computer tech. As I said we have poor credit so this doesn’t seem to matter. We don’t have thousands just laying around for a down payment and don’t want to as for a co-signer. I have looked into bad credit loans, rent to buy, there doesn’t seem to be any way that we will ever get out of these apartments we are living in. Is there hope?

If the liquidity offered to banks/lending institutions does not extend to the average consumer, because banks arenow less willing to take risks, then what’s the point?

My mom was telling me that anyone listed in the account will suffer from bad credit even if the account is being used by one person … How is it possible to have bad credit form a bank account and is what my mom told me true?
